A warning for Coalition losers
Advance shreds Basil Zempilas and issues warning to other Coalition MPs.
That was the headline in The Australian yesterday.
And it’s true.
So when feckless, headline-hunting MPs like Basil Zempilas come along and fold immediately to what activists want, we’re not going to let them off the hook.
Ex-TV host and now WA Liberal Leader Zempilas went against his own state party’s wishes by saying he’ll be towing the line on Welcomes to Country, support for activist flags, and Net Zero.
That’s despite his party, and colleagues like Senator Cash and Andrew Hastie, supporting a motion to oppose those policies.
As ADVANCE Director Matthew Sheahan told The Australian;
Instead of standing with WA families, he chose to support an energy policy that will destroy his state’s economic prosperity.
If Basil Zempilas thinks hiking power bills and taking land off farmers is an election winner, he may as well quit now.
Zempilas, and new federal leader Sussan Ley, want to wave away issues like Net Zero and support for our flag by calling them a “culture war”.
They don’t want to have mean articles written about them in the newspapers or have Guardian blogs calling them right-wing.
But here’s the reality: progressives and left-wing activists are fighting the culture war every single day.
You’re not showing leadership by hiding from these issues or by buying the progressive media line that they’re culture wars.
Leadership means confronting these issues head-on with courage to make the lives of Aussies better.
And the Coalition has no choice because, let’s face it, they lost big in May.
And they’ve lost big across most of the states in Australia over the last few years, including only winning seven seats in the Western Australian election in March this year.
Why? Because they are not listening to the concerns of mainstream Australians.
They’re not unlucky.
They’re not victims of bad internal polling.
They’re not being beaten by the Labor party’s brilliance.
They’re just not listening.
And they’re not fighting against the activists and elites who are driving our freedom, prosperity, and security into the ground.
The Coalition will not win by being Labor-lite technocratic managers.
They won’t win by being scared of what polls tell them about public support on this or that issue.
They will win by taking a stand on what really matters.
Remember the Voice? Every poll at the start of 2023 said it would pass easily.
But ADVANCE stood on principle and took up the fight, months before the Coalition did.
And we won.
Something the Coalition in WA and Federally haven’t done for a while.
Maybe they could learn a thing or two.
After all, what do they have to lose?
