The voice for mainstream values, Advance Australia, dropped a parody bomb today in the Queensland election.

Advance Australia executive director Matthew Sheahan said the 45-second satirical clip was an Australian first that was both humourous but also carried a serious message for voters.

“Sadly too many voters, especially young people, are disengaged and greater creativity is needed to carry mainstream messages about jobs and financial responsibility.

“The disastrous reign of far-left and anti-coal treasurer Jackie Trad had left the Sunshine State with record pre-covid debt, record bankruptcies and the highest unemployment in the country,” Mr Sheahan said.

“For anyone watching Queensland politics it has been clear for a long time that Premier Palaszczuk has been the puppet of the extreme left with Trad or the union bosses pulling the strings.”

The ad begins with the caption “If politicians were honest” and proceeds to have the Premier giving a mock press conference. She admits to giving the state’s books to Trad and that she “stuffed it”.

Advance Australia has been running billboards and organising aerial signage in marginal seats with the message “A Vote For Labor is a Vote For Trad”. Another flyover Brisbane and the Gold Coast has been booked for Saturday.

Advance Australia also placed a digital billboard in the key Greens seat of Maiwar reminding voters that the Greens support de-funding the police.

“We are determined to help people understand just how crazy the left is whether they inhabit Labor or the Greens,” Mr Sheahan said.
