If you ever needed more proof the Greens are not who they used to be, just check out the latest ideas from their MPs and Senators.

The Australian published two stories yesterday that show the Greens priorities are nowhere near the trees and dams of years gone by.

Instead it’s activist policies that will hurt your family.

First up we have Brisbane MP Max Chandler-Mathers saying the Greens housing policy is specifically aimed to make your house worth less.

The Australian reports:

Greens housing spokesman Max Chandler-Mather has made clear the minor party’s policies are aimed at achieving a real decline in housing values over time to ­ensure the next generation has a better chance of buying a home

Sure, we all know there’s a housing crisis, and we want young people to be able to buy a home.

But the answer isn’t to make your home worth less through racking up taxes.

It’s through building more homes to create supply.

Something many Greens councils have been actively stopping.

It’s always the way with the Greens – they say something that seems good but they’re simply not who they used to be, and underneath the surface is a policy that hurts your family.

Then there’s Senator David Shoebridge, who is upset Australia hasn’t taken more Gaza refugees.

According to The Australian:

The minor party is pushing for an increase in the size of the ­humanitarian intake – set at 20,000 refugee and humanitarian visas a year – and has ­rejected the link between the housing crisis and the post-Covid migration boom.

And they reckon including people from Gaza needs to be a big part of that number – and that security concerns are “dog whistling”.

Security concerns are not dog whistling.

The Albanese Government’s decision to release criminal illegal immigrants who then committed more crimes is proof of that.

But the real kicker is this:

None of this has anything to do with the environment.

None of this is about making your life better, or dealing with cost of living, or making you safer.

It’s all activism, all the time.

Because they’re not who they used to be.
