What's happening in Greens target seat Macnamara?
We now cross to our lead field campaign coordinator, on the ground in the seat of Macnamara.
“One thing I can say is that love us or hate us, everybody knows us,” he said.
“They know our messaging, they know what we stand for and they know the policies that we’re attacking. People know we’re targeting the Greens and they know why.”
They all knew us, and yet, according to our man on the ground: “They can’t refute us.”
And if the mood of the Labor and Greens volunteers are anything to go by: “They’re worried.”
“They won’t speak to us,” he said.
“They don’t want to acknowledge us. The vibe changes when we get to the booth. We’re nothing but polite to them but they don’t want to talk to us.
“You can get a sense that they know we’re the team responsible for the defeat of the Voice. To them, we’re already responsible for any bad outcome they have in this election.”
Bang on!
On the race, our field coordinator said that Macnamara is going to be a close three-way contest between Labor, Greens and Liberals.
“No clear majority yet, this is a tight race,” he said.
Stay tuned.
