We’re in a cost of living crisis, an energy crisis, and a period of major global instability.

So what’s the answer served up by Albanese and Labor?

More useless woke public servants in Canberra.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics revealed last week the public sector workforce has ballooned to 213,000, up from the low of 144,704 in 2019.

I’m sure the jobs are nice for the people in Canberra who were hired, but are Aussie taxpayers getting for their money?

Better services? Lower call wait times? Faster construction of infrastructure?

Of course not.

Sky News reports:

“It was also uncovered that a considerable number of the workforce was made of up compliance, regulation, administrative, and human resources officers tasked with supervising the mammoth public service.”

In other words, woke HR departments, diversity officers, and bureaucratic busybodies.

This isn’t an accident. It’s by design.

Have a look at the Australian Public Service Commission’s Diversity and Inclusion website and you’ll see five different Diversity strategies.

You’ll also find 19 different affinity groups and networks that operate across the public service, based on race, sexuality, gender, disability, and whatever other niche identity character you might like to identify with.

Over at Anthony Albanese’s own Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, they openly say they’re hiring based on woke criteria:

They also promote their “active membership with external bodies such as the Diversity Council of Australia, the Australian Disability Network and Pride in Diversity”.

Nothing about merit or serving the people of Australia. 

Just identity politics and thinly-disguised activism.

No wonder we’re being hit with massive taxpayer bills for Welcome to Country ceremonies.

It’s a joke, and it’s putting at risk our prosperity by inflating the jobs numbers and hiding the lack of productivity and growth in the economy more broadly.

That’s why when Anthony Albanese and Jim Chalmers talk about jobs growth, remember they’ve just made it up.

Their jobs growth has not come from productivity, from small business, or from the enterprise of hard working Aussies.

It’s just Labor jobs for the woke Public Sector Union.

And you’re paying for it.
