Former leaders call to Dump Net Zero
Dumping Net Zero is the single most important issue if we want to ensure Australia’s prosperity continues into the future.
No country has built a strong economy on expensive energy.
And no country is made safer from natural disasters by becoming poorer.
Net Zero has to go.
And any ally in the fight to abolish it is welcome.
So it was great to see former deputy prime ministers Barnaby Joyce and Michael McCormack put aside their past differences and unite against this disastrous damaging policy.
McCormack noted the dollars and destruction driving the push towards Net Zero with renewables that destroy our landscape, with “largely international” corporations dividing families and communities with their renewable projects.
As The Australian reports:
“They are creating acrimony among people who have been friends for not just years, but for generations. They divide and conquer,” Mr McCormack said.
He said he backed Net Zero in 2021 because farmers were concerned Australia would be hit with trade penalties if the Morrison government didn’t adopt the target.
He said the growing global shift against Net Zero and the changing trade environment had eliminated that risk.
Joyce agreed, saying renewable projects are impacting agricultural land and the livability of regions.
This is the reality of Net Zero.
It’s making overseas corporations rich.
It’s driving division and destruction in regional communities.
And as the rest of the world continues to fail to meet its targets, it’s not going to make any difference to the weather.
You know it, I know it, Chris Bowen knows it.
So it’s welcome to see McCormack and Joyce say it clearly.
