Why does Chris Bowen keep lying about Net Zero?
If the case for Net Zero is so ironclad, why does Chris Bowen keep lying about it?
That’s the question that should be on every Aussie’s lips after Bowen was caught spreading false information about the scale of renewable projects either scheduled or already underway.
The new Australian Renewable Energy Map released this week by Steve Nowakowski had barely been online for a few hours before Energy Minister Chris Bowen put up a video claiming to debunk it.
He said this map grossly exaggerates the amount of renewable projects happening, saying the real number was only 12 per cent of what the map claimed, and said it was all just a front for pro-nuclear power groups.
But it turns out, as The Australian reported, Bowen was using a figure that only applied to projects in New South Wales, not the entire country.
Without admitting he got it wrong, Bowen walked the claim back in Parliament during Question Time, admitting the figure he used did indeed only apply to NSW and, therefore, implicitly admitting the map is at least close to accurate.
Environmental groups are also starting to raise concerns after the map revealed projects planned for nature reserves and land with important biodiversity qualities.
But Bowen just keeps waving them off.
As Steve Nowakowski said: “Anyone who has legitimate concerns or real issues he just shrugs off.”
The fact that Bowen so confidently tried to debunk this map with false information does raise some serious questions beyond his refusal to engage with anyone who disagrees with him.
Does Bowen actually know the true scale of renewable projects his government is planning?
If he does, how could he have possibly been fooled by a figure that only applied to one state?
And, if renewable energy is so cheap and safe and reliable, why would he try to downplay the scale in the first place?
Most importantly, if he’s dishonest about this, what else is he being dishonest about?
The propaganda from Labor, the Greens, the Teals, government agencies, climate activists, the mainstream media, and all the other pro-renewables groups tells us 24/7 that renewables are the future, this is the way the world is heading, and it’s all going to be cheap and great.
But if that’s the case, why do they keep hiding facts, avoiding hard questions, and start name-calling anyone who tries to shed light on what’s happening?
There’s a massive irony in this all happening as the Senate inquiry into climate “misinformation”, targeting ADVANCE, continues.
Bowen just completely misinformed the public, ignored questions about it, and barely admitted he got it wrong.
And he’s meant to be on the transparent truth-telling side.
But the real truth is Net Zero is a joke, it’s going to lead to massive expensive projects that destroy the environment and local communities, and it’s not going to change the climate.
Debunk that, Mr Bowen.
